Having custom attributes to each Item of the lot in the inventory

Hi Team,

In the use of openboxes inventory , we are facing an issue.
According to our requirements, for each of the items we want to store in a lot of inventory, additionally, we want to have custom fields like start coverage, end coverage and so on.

We tried defining custom attributes while defining a product, but in this case, the attributes get only associated with the product.
When we make an inbound movement, and add items, with respect to each item of that product type, we are not able to have those attributes.

Please help us with this.

Yes, what you’re describing (custom attributes associated with inventory items) is not currently supported and is quite complex. Associating custom attributes with a specific lot / batch is also not supported, but would be much easier. In other words, custom attributes for Product X, Lot ABC123 would be a fairly straightforward feature request. But supporting custom attribtues for an inventory item (Product X, Lot ABC123, Bin AA-00-01, Quantity 15 EA/1) … not so straightforward.

So could you explain your use case (start coverage, end coverage) in more detail so that I can better understand what you’re trying to accomplish?
